Los Angeles left-handed Blake Snell appears to be finally taking a step towards his long-awaited return from the injured list. On Wednesday, Snell began his slow program and played catches from 60 feet.

“It’s very encouraging,” said manager Dave Roberts.
There is no timetable for the return of the two Cy Young winners yet, but starting the throwing programme indicates that a meeting with Dr. Neal Elattrache on a shoulder injury has been successful.
Snell faces several set-offs in his recovery, and the are being cautious on the return of the pitcher. Southpaw only had two starts before he was placed in IL on April 6th.
The began their offseason by signing Snell for a five-year, $182 million deal in less than a month since winning the World Series. The landmark contract was a sign that the defending champions hoped to continue their success in 2025.
Snell landed in Illinois twice last season alongside the San Francisco Giants, but finished with 1.048 whips with 20 starts in 2024. The left-hander threw the first no-hit of his career when he returned from Illinois, and hope is just as effective as he takes the mound for the again.
Snell is one of Illinois’ 14 pitchers, with Sasaki being the latest one being Roki. L.A. currently has three starters on the sidelines in the first day rotation.
The issue of injuries to pitching staff is concerning, to say the least. However, veteran Clayton Kershaw is set to start his first season with the Los Angeles Angels on Saturday, so his exhausted rotation will be reinforced this weekend.
