Los Angeles utility man Quique Hernandez will return to Stadium Friday night, according to manager Dave Roberts. Fan favorites did not attend the home opener as they fought stomach illness.

Hernandez will not compete with the Detroit Tigers on Friday. Michael Comfort came out from the lineup yesterday first day, so Hernandez would have played if he wasn’t sick.
Hernandez was vomiting and couldn’t control solid foods, like Mookie Betts’ mystical illness. However, Roberts said he does not believe the two cases are related.
“We felt it was going to happen soon,” Roberts said Thursday, but also noted that other players have recently had “sniffles and more.”
Hernandez played in all three games in the Tokyo series with the Chicago Cubs and in the Freeway series with the Los Angeles Angels. Fan favorites hit a three-run bomb at Tokyo Dome against the Cubs.
