The Denver Nuggets training camp appears to be on track for one young player.

NBA training camp is a great opportunity for players to impress the team’s head coach ahead of the regular season.

Now, for the Denver Nuggets, it feels like Payton Watson did that. Previously, Watson received immense praise from Aaron Gordon.

Currently, the Nuggets head coach David Adelman is a 23-year-old guard/forward who will also go to Gaga.

Last season, the Nuggets were able to reach the second round, mainly due to the brilliance of NBA MVP Nikola Jokic.

However, it was clear that Jokic needed help to really give the Nugget a shot in another NBA championship. Ahead of the 2025-26 season, Watson feels that he could become a key support player for the franchise.

The main reason behind this is that manager Adelman appears to have been quite impressed with Watson’s growth before his fourth year in the NBA.

“Pay was really good. He’s really responsible for the ball. He had the ball in his second unit,” Adelman told the media after the third day of training camp.

He added: “He’s made some really healthy decisions. We’re sometimes looking for guys to get into the summer.

The Nuggets learned from their mistakes and focused on adding quality role players to their roster during the offseason.

As mentioned earlier, Watson falls into that category and about his future, Adelman sees him become a top-notch playmaker in the league.

“You do that, you can become a playmaker, and obviously you know what he can do on the defensive side,” Adelman continued.

He states: “So Pay was a bright spot. I think the best compliment you give to someone is, “He’s played like a professional basketball player.” He’s all three days. ”

Last season, Watson averaged 8.1 points, 3.4 rebounds and 1.4 assists per game for the nuggets, but after hearing Adelman’s praise, fans may see his stats hike.
