The Denver Nuggets interim head coach released another surprising comment about the team ahead of the 2025 playoffs.
For the first time since 2019, the Denver Nuggets will begin their NBA playoff journey without manager Michael Malone on the sidelines.
Instead, David Adelman tentatively fills Malone’s shoes. But as things stand now, Adelman seems to have little control over his team.
After all, Adelman admitted that even if Nicola Djokic wanted to be the team’s coach, he was fine. Anyway, the interim coach also thinks that the current Nugget roster houses one of the greatest greats of all time, and that’s not even a joke.
All the Nuggets are set to take on the Los Angeles Clippers in the opening round of the playoffs. Jokic is expected to be the best player on the team, but many fans are watching Jamal Murray closely.
why? Well, throughout his career, Murray has proven that he is one of the greatest playoff performers of the present day. With that in mind, Coach Adelman greatly praised the 28-year-old after a recent practice session.
“He was born for it. You can’t really claim it. The winner of the game, the ability to play in the biggest game and lift his game mentally. He just has it, and some people do.
“This is going to be a tough series for him. They (the Clippers) have a lot of people to throw at him. Me, me, the staff, I think we have to help Jamal.
“Because we need that second son because we know what he can do if we can set him free. …We know what Jamal is in the playoffs. He is one of the greatest greats of all time. You can’t argue that.”
Murray didn’t have a major end to the regular season, but Nuggets are still optimistic about his altitude becoming the postseason.
After all, Murray proved that in his career. Murray averaged 18.0 points, 3.8 rebounds and 4.7 assists per game for the regular season nuggets.
However, when playoff time comes, Murray’s numbers earn up to 24.2 points, 4.9 rebounds and 6.2 assists per game. Plus, filming for the 2023 NBA champions will also be slightly improved in the postseason.
With that in mind, coach Adelman needs to be smart about what rotation Murray will do to optimize his use with the Clippers.
