David Onama is just hours away from his first UFC main event.
With wins in his last four fights, “The Silent Assassin” will face the biggest test of his MMA career when he faces 23-fight veteran Steve Garcia at UFC Vegas 110.
Speaking with members of the media at Wednesday’s media day in Las Vegas, Onama had yet to reach an agreement on his first official headliner under the UFC banner.
“When I got the call to be in the main event, I just thought, ‘Wow.’ You know, from losing in my UFC debut to being in the main event at APEX, it was… well, it was amazing,” Onama said. “Honestly, I was excited when I heard the news. For me, for my fans, and for everyone who has always supported me.”
Although he came up short in his promotional debut four years ago, Onama put together an impressive four-fight winning streak that included a highlight-reel knockout win over Gabriel Santos and three unanimous decisions over Jonathan Pearce, Roberto Romero, and Giga Chikadze.
As for his opponent, Garcia heads into Saturday’s scrap having won his past six fights, but his biggest win came against Calvin Cathal in July.
Garcia and Onama currently occupy 12th and 13th place in the featherweight rankings. The winner is likely to be named among the top 10 candidates in 2026.
