Delhi’s Arun Jaitley Stadium was under a major threat on Friday (May 9) amid tensions between India and Pakistan. Delhi and the District Cricket Association (DDCA) have received an email threatening to bomb the stadium.
Tensions between India and Pakistan are flaring every day. Neither country has been able to hold back stones when launching attacks on each other. There have also been several drone and missile attacks over the past few days.

In all this, the Delhi and district cricket associations receive mail saying they have Pakistani loyal sleepers all over India, and they activate them and blow up Arun Jaitley Stadium. Read the email:

“We pack loyal sleeper cells across India. We activate them for OpSindoor. We will blow up your stadium.”
The threat of bombs at Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi was a hoax
However, the threat of bombs at Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi has been found to be a hoax. However, security is being strengthened at the venue. The Bomb Disposal (BDS) and Dog Squad, along with the Delhi Police Team, rushed to the iconic venue after the threat and checked it out in every corner.
Following on, DDCA secretary Ashok Sharma said they had received the threat via email and immediately forwarded it to the police. He also stated that the bomb squad was there, but nothing was found. Speaking to PTI, he said:
“We received a bomb threat via email at the DDCA address. We immediately transferred it to Delhi Police. The Delhi Police Bomb Force came and inspected the entire venue. Nothing was found.”

Delhi police officials provided similar updates saying that nothing suspicious has been found but increased security within and around the stadium. Speaking to PTI, he said:
“We found nothing suspicious. We also increased security in and around the stadium.”
Amidst the tension, the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 was also postponed. Delhi’s Arun Jaitley Stadium was one of the best venues in the league as it hosted the Delhi Capitals game. The league will be suspended for a week and the decision will be made soon.
Delhi’s Arun Jaitley Stadium was scheduled to hold a game between the Delhi Capitals and the Gujarat Titans on Sunday (May 11). But thankfully, the league has been postponed and authorities are now constantly spending their time looking at the venue and ensuring the safety of those there.
