Demarcus Cousins gave him great approval for his former team, the Golden State Warriors.
The Golden State Warriors are undoubtedly one of the NBA’s most well-run organizations. Without that, they wouldn’t have won four NBA titles in the last decade.
The main reason behind it is that it treats Superstar better than most of the NBA. It’s clear from how Jimmy Butler fits into the team’s culture.
Speaking of culture, former Warriors star DeMarcus Cousins recently gave a big revelation about the dub.
Despite his second exit in the 2025 postseason, Butler’s debut season with the Warriors is on track as the 35-year-old loves his time with his new team.
The Butler was gaga above the Warriors, so my cousin also rang out about the topic.
“Because I’m a guy who’s part of the organization, I can agree to Jimmy 100%. It’s definitely one of the top organizations in the NBA. They treat players’ families well. They treat players’ families well,” Cousins said.
He added: “You know, the road to travel, that is, the playoffs, the finals, they have independent planes just for the players’ families, so that’s not a lot of organizations doing it.
Cousins admitted that Butler’s Warriors career was just beginning, but he should know that the organization will roll out a “red carpet” for him.
“Obviously, it’s early, but I know that warriors treat themselves, the organization is about to roll out a red carpet for him. They want him to be welcomed. They want him to feel like a part of the family.”
It’s good that Butler and the Warriors are working on this partnership. However, some have been critical of the Warriors’ decision to write a two-year, $121 million extension after being traded by the Miami Heat.
But his cousin thought it was a wise decision and said, “And I think Jimmy also shows that he’s moving forward with his best feet. So I think it’s coming from both sides. And that makes sense.
He concluded: “You want that. You want this relationship to work. You want your investment to work… It makes sense to give Jimmy an extension at this point in his career.
“Everyone is doing their part to do this job. For now, it’s working.”
Butler averaged 17.9 points, 5.5 rebounds and 5.9 assists per game for the Warriors in his first 30 games with the franchise.
