Arsenal will play in the Champions League semi-finals after highlighting Real Madrid in the quarterfinals. Mikel Arteta’s team tracked last week’s 3-0 victory at the Emirates, earning another memorable victory at the Santiago Bernabeu. This time we’ll be on the scoreline of 2-1.
Real Madrid spoke a lot in the media before Game 2, but Arsenal spoke on the pitch. They won many praise for their 180-minute performance against the defending champion.
Colliemore believes Arsenal can win the Champions League
In his exclusive catch-offside column, Colliemore said he was very impressed with Arsenal’s exhibit at the Bernabéu. He also made his verdict on whether they could win the Champions League for the first time.
“Arsenal was excellent against Real Madrid last night. The damage was done in the first leg with a very offensive display. I think it was the difference between the two teams. I don’t think Arsenal was threatened.
“It was a better two-legged dismantling of the individual team, Real Madrid. We don’t know yet if we can do that against PSG, but they should be confident because I don’t think Aston Villa is naive enough to do that at a key moment in the tie.
“In my opinion, there’s nothing to stop Arsenal from winning the Champions League. There’s little between the four teams remaining in the competition, so Arsenal has nothing to stop him from winning the Champions League. PSG and Barcelona are two teams that have not had much experience at this stage in competition with these teams, and Inter Milan is probably the one that many teams didn’t expect to reach the point.
“For Arsenal, I think they need to be even better against PSG than they were against Real Madrid, but do you think they can?”
