The legendary Detroit Pistons announcer will be hit with Shy Gilgauss Alexander after a “slight” performance.
Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and the Oklahoma City Thunder’s 2024-25 NBA season is more or less over as they have a big lead as the No. 1 seed in the Western Conference.
Thanks to the incredible season of the Thunder, Shy has been an NBA MVP favorite all season. If there is one player who competed with Gilgeous-Alexander, it is Denver Nuggets superstar Nikola Jokic.
Once the dust settles, it’s pretty clear that one of the two stars will win the MVP Award. Speaking of which, the Detroit Pistons announcer recently revealed why Jokic is a better player than Shy, even if the Thunderstar won the MVP award.
The Thunder concluded the season’s final Eastern Conference matchup.
Shy finished the night in his name with 33 points, six rebounds and three assists. Pistons announcer George Braha called out the Thunderstar’s performance and explained why the Joker is the best player in the NBA.
“Only three assists for Gilgeous-Alexander and 10/26 shooting. He may be the MVP, but he is not the best player in the world.
“The Joker is the best player in the world. He had a triple double of 61 points last night and had more than three assists.”
Blaha was furious at SGA’s performance and never thought of it again before labeling it as “a bit of a loss.” Like Blaha, there are plenty of NBA fans who believe Jokic should win the MVP Award.
However, most people also know that due to voter fatigue, Shy’s odds have been pretty locked up to win the first NBA MVP award of his career.
Gilgeous-Alexander averaged 32.8 points, 5.0 rebounds and 6.3 assists per game, leading Thunder to first place in the West.
In any other season, he could have been a unanimous NBA MVP. However, Joker is the definition of MVP, which means he averages 29.7 points, 12.8 rebounds and 10.2 assists per game. Jokic’s presence will enhance the somewhat mediocre nugget team to championship competitors.
However, this is not the first time a basketball fan has seen a superstar receive this treatment. In fact, legendary sports analyst Dan Patrick split it completely when Jokic compared it to the 2013 LeBron James Post.
“He (Jokic) is not going to win an MVP, but he… Joker can have four MVPs. Including this year, he can have five MVPs. He’s playing at that level.
“But he wins with three people and suddenly, ‘Oh, we can’t make it happen.” LeBron James has not been an MVP since 2013. He was 28 years old. ”
Patrick believes that LBJ had at least seven NBA MVPs if the vote was fair. Similarly, Jokic should have already won four NBA MVPs in his career, and should have been an easy choice to win fifth place this season.
