Dillon Danis will return to MMA sports and Misfit Boxing will make history by promoting his first martial arts match. The announcement came via X as it was announced that the former Bellator MMA fighter would be testing his skills against Warren “Mechanic” Spencer.
In this match, the midfielder MMA light heavyweight title will take place on August 30th at AO Arena in Manchester, England. This Misfits Boxing 22 card boasts the tagline “Ring of Thrones.” Also, Tony Ferguson has won Salt Papi, and former UFC veterinarians Luke Rockhold and Darren will be appearing until they meet Queensbury’s rules.
Dillon Danis’ combat sports have been working hard for years.
Dillon Danis will be returning to martial arts for the first time in more than six years after compiling a 2-0 professional record inside Bellator MMA Cage. Before wearing 4oz gloves, Danis was known for his tenure at the Jiu-Jitsu circuit. This has since been first publicly recognized as someone who helped Connor McGregor develop jiu-jitsu, and has gained more focus in the MMA world.
Danis’ MMA debut occurred in April 2018 at Bellator 198, submitting Kyle Walker a toe hold at the 1:38 mark in the opening round. His last MMA match, played at the time of writing, went down in June 2019. In this match, Danis scored another opening round submission when Danis finished Max Humphrey at Bellator 222 at 4:28 mark.
Danis was targeting the aforementioned MMA return against Tony Ferguson in May in the Global Fight League until GFL cancelled its first card at the end of May. Dillon Danis was present on the influencer boxing circuit during this MMA break, and there was a polarization prize fight against Logan Paul, who saw Danis lose in a disqualification during a boxing match.
Danis has also been linked to a boxing match with KSI for many years, with the former having to withdraw from his initial booking in January 2023, so both of them left the contest, while the latter in March this year.
