Khamzat Chimaev has the UFC champions potentially bad for business.
After winning victories with Gilbert Burns, Kevin Holland, Kamal Usman and Robert Whittaker, “Bols” cashes out the opportunity for his much-anticipated title on August 16th, challenging and challenging intermediate king Doricus de Plesis. The two will be headings of stacked UFC 319 cards, originating from United Center in Chicago, Illinois.
As it stands, Chimaev is a two-on-one favorite, leaving behind a “wind town” with gold on his waist. However, not everyone is excited that the undefeated Chechnya monster could win his first world title.
“Is it a disaster for Khamzat Chimaev to acquire the belt for the division?” Michael Bisping said in a recent episode of his Believe You Me Podcast. “As for the promotion, you agreed that yeah, maybe that’s right, right?”
“Until we see him fight more regularly, that’s a question,” the fighter added analyst Paul Felder. “That’s a problem.”
Chimaev entered the UFC scene in 2020, winning three fights over the course of eight weeks. However, a particularly troublesome match against Covid-19 stopped his momentum when “Bols” appeared to be on the superstar’s fast track. The illness was reportedly so bad that Chimaev considered retiring from sports entirely.
Luckily, it didn’t happen, but he had barely seen him since.
Khamzat Chimaev returns to the US for the first time in three years at UFC 319
2022 was the last time Chimaev had competed multiple times in a calendar year. Furthermore, “Borz” has not competed in the US since UFC 279.
Assuming there is no final retreat, there is also a common outbreak with Chimaev, but Chechnya will return to the US in just a few weeks.
However, if “Borz” ends up bored due to another medical problem, the surge in competitor Reinier de Ridder would be happy to intervene in a short period of time.
