Newcastle United have completed their club record deal to sign Nick Ultemaid during the summer transfer period.
They fired a package worth 90 million euros to sign German International.
Woltemade had an exceptional season last time with VFB Stuttgart (17 goals and 3 assists), and has received high praise across Europe. There is no doubt that Woltemade is a promising young player with a bright future. He was able to develop into a key player in Newcastle in the long run.
He was brought in to replace Alexander Isaac, who joined Liverpool.
How Eddie Courts convinced Woltemade
German International scored on Newcastle’s Premier League debut, revealing that Manager Eddie Hau told him to convince him about the move.
Woltemade was heavily linked to his travels to Bayern Munich all summer, but the German champions were unable to make the deal.
“The discussion with the coach was good from the start,” he said.
“I was shown clear plans and progress right away. People want to work with me here. I’m very pleased about it.”
Nick Urtemade made an impressive debut
Woltemade will be pleased with his start to his Premier League career. He can find the backstage of the net in his debut, and he tries to build on it. He has the physicality and technical attributes to thrive in British football. It will be interesting to see if he can fill in the blanks left by Isaac.
Newcastle is paying him a lot, but he could justify his investment. If he can consistently score goals, the move could prove to be a wise investment in the long run.
