Monaco – Novak Djokovic will have the opportunity to revenge one of the more surprising losses of his career.
The 24-time Grand Slam champion will face 32nd place Alejandro Tabilo in the opening match of the Monte Carlo Masters.
Tabilo has set up a second round rematch with Djokovic, who defeated 2014 champions Stan Wawrinka 1-6, 7-5 and 7-5 in the first round, 7-5 and a second round of rematch against Djokovic, who defeated last year at the Italian Open.
Djokovic, who had a one-round goodbye at Monte Carlo, only won five matches against Rome’s Tabilo.
This will be Djokovic’s first match since losing to Jakub Mensik’s Miami Open Final.
The Monte Carlo Masters are the first big clay court tournament of the year. Also in the 64th round on Monday, Gili Lehecka defeated Sebastian Korda 6-3, 7-6 (7), while Marcos Giron defeated Dennis Shapovalov 6-3, 7-6 (5).
