Doc Rivers thrilled praise for the Milwaukee Bucks bench players after his incredible performance helped the team get a 121-115 victory with the Miami Heat.
The team, led by Giannis Antetokounmpo’s 36-point triple double, won overtime to move up to the fifth spot in the Eastern Conference.
Miami was in a tough race against the Milwaukee Bucks, but the Rivers man only admitted four points and came out of the Caseyya Center to win and competed in the defensive clinic.
Brooke Lopez also scored 17 points in the win, while Kevin Porter Jr. scored 24 points, 12 rebounds and threw eight assists from the team’s bench.
The 24-year-old hit a dagger in overtime to seal the Bucks’ victory.
Porter Jr. was a valuable addition to the Bucks, especially as Damian Lillard is out due to injuries.
Antetokounmpo has done well to take over responsibility for handling the ball, but Porter Jr. proved in his game in the game that he has what he needs to close the team’s game.
Speaking of players, Rivers said:
“He stopped and he turned the corner 10 times tonight. I know he made a saud after the game, ‘I could keep doing it,’ and we were like, ‘Yes.’ He’s a very big body and he has a good first step for us. ”
The KPJ averages 10.6 ppg, with 49.2% shooting from the field and 41.8% shooting from the ARC.
His scoring ability is elite and he brings a lot of athletic ability from the bench for his team.
It’s not yet known when Lillard will return to the Bucks, but with Porter Jr. in the lineup, they have players who can become valuable assets with the clutch.
Porter Jr. played a big role off the bench as the Bucks had in their stretches in the last three games.
He looked offensively sharp and played alongside Antetokounmpo. Antetokounmpo has earned many open looks with Porter Jr., one of his biggest power forwards.
His minutes have also come up and he has done well to show the river that he can trust stretching.
With five more games remaining, Porter Jr. considers continuing to fire the Bucks as one of the team’s main offensive weapons and heading into the playoffs.
