On Sunday afternoon, the Pacers hosted the Cavaliers for Game 4 in the East Semi-Finals. Indiana had a 2-1 series lead. The Pacers started the game hot, but they never gave up.
By halftime, the Cavaliers were 80-39 years old and never recovered. They lost 129-100 to the Pacers. However, the score did not show how biased his Game 4 victory was. After trying to warm up before the second half, Mitchell experienced pain in his left ankle and was later ruled out. He is expected to have an MRI on Monday.

Cleveland’s Donovan Mitchell leads the team with 29.8 points per game in the 2025 postseason. Before Game 4. Mitchell was the first Cavs player since LeBron James to score more than 40 points in a back-to-back playoff game. He scored 48 in Game 2 losses and 43 in Game 3 wins. Mitchell struggled in the first half against the Pacers in Game 4. He scored 12 points at halftime and was 1-5 over the arc. Mitchell reportedly suffered a left ankle injury Sunday in a loss to the Cavs.
Mitchell attempted a warm-up to start the second half before the training staff could inspect them. All-Star SG went to the locker room ahead of the third quarter and was later excluded for the game. Cleveland has been removed 3-1 by the Pacers in this series. On top of that, their top players suffered injuries.
That’s yet another unfortunate injury that Cleveland is dealing with this postseason. Evan Mobley and De’andre Hunter missed the game in the 2025 playoffs due to injuries. Additionally, PG Darius Garland missed out on his fourth straight game with a toe injury. He’s back for games 3 and 4, but is still not 100% healthy.
