It looks like Jadon Sancho will not be in the Premier League next season or at least Chelsea or Manchester United.
Sancho, now available for loan at Man United’s Chelsea, has had a disappointing season.
He played 31 games, chipped in with seven assists and scored twice. However, despite getting regular minutes, Chelsea boss Enzo Maresca is not impressed with him.
This raised doubts about his future at Chelsea as Man United is not open to welcoming him at the club after his troubles at Old Trafford.
Transfer News expert Fabrizio Romano is offering the latest updates on Sancho’s future, claiming that players have no future in Man United unless there is a major change in mind with manager Ruben Amorim.
Chelsea have the option to sign Sancho at the end of the season, but if you pay the penalty you can refuse it.
Speaking on his YouTube channel, Romano said:
“Let’s make something clear with Jadon Sancho. In recent weeks, we’ve said Chelsea is obligated to buy a £25 million package.
“It’s an important part of the story and it’s an obligation to buy, but you have a clause worth £5 million and you basically send the player back to Manchester United if you decide not to activate the option.
“But what I wanted to mention to everyone is that my info about the recent stories about United is that even if Chelsea decides to send players back to Old Trafford, Jadon Sancho and United’s plans aren’t to continue together.
“So Sancho’s priorities are to stay at Chelsea. He still wants to stay at Chelsea. If Chelsea decides against it and brings the players back to United, the current expectations aren’t United and Sancho going to continue together.
“The management already wanted to sell Sancho a year ago, so it’s absolutely crazy and completely driven by the coaches.”
What will be next for Sancho after Man United’s decision?
Borussia Dortmund, who was once a star of Sancho, may have been keen to bring him back, but there is nothing concrete about it.
The move may be something he needs to get his career back on track in a place he knows well.
In the Premier League, the winger was given enough opportunities to prove himself, and he couldn’t take those opportunities.
It’s no surprise to see Chelsea return from the deal to sign him forever.
Sancho’s future is still in the air. Unless there is a dramatic change in the UK, returning to Germany may be the reset he needs.
Reuben Amorim will identify two signatures he wants to make at Man United this summer
