Leicester City striker Jamie Birdy confirmed he will leave the club at the end of the season.
The veteran striker left the fox 13 years after the club, and Alex Crook revealed that a move to Wrexham could be made in the summer.
The former England International is also linked to Saudi Arabia and the transition to MLS. However, Crook revealed on Talksport that Vardy could become a statement signing to Wrexham in the summer.
“Someone suggested to me this morning. If Wrexham gets promoted, I would recommend creating another TV show. Don’t rule out Jamie Vardy going there,” Crook told Turksport on Friday.
Wrexham can use players like Jamie Vardy
Wrexham is approaching securing three consecutive promotions and has ambitious projects. They may seem to bring in high quality players like Vardy in the summer. He is certainly an exceptional acquisition for them.
He helped Leicester City win the domestic trophy and Premier League titles during the club, allowing him to make a big impact at Wrexham. Aside from his quality as a player, his leadership skills and winning experience could prove to be a valuable addition to Wrexham’s dressing room.
Signing players of his abilities on a free transfer is also a big coup. Vardy is interested in taking on new challenges in the summer, and joining Wrexham allows him to get closer to the house.
There is no doubt that the Saudi club and the MLS club can provide him with more money, but Wrexham could be an interesting challenge for him. It would be interesting to see what players decide.
