Donte Divincenzo praised his Minnesota Timberwolves teammates, saying they fit into every lineup and are important to the team in the playoffs.
Divincenzo joined the Timberwolves as part of a trade that saw the town of Karl Anthony move to the New York Knicks.
He averaged over 11 ppg, shooting 39.5% from the 3-point range, improving his performance in the last 10 games.
The Timberwolves have successfully won eight straight times since the All-Star break, including something comfortable against the Denver Nuggets.
Donte Divincenzo recently appeared on the “The Young and the Three” podcast, talking about his time at TO-Olves and also praised the impact he had on Mike Conley and the team.
Mike Conley is one of the purest point guards in the NBA today, and despite playing in his 18th year, his playmaking remains the best in the league.
The 37-year-old is key to a T-wolf attack as he shoots the ball at a very efficient 41.9% from the 3-point range.
Speaking about his impact on the team, Divincenzo said:
“So when you’re getting both, and you’re like you don’t have to deal with anything outside, there’s nothing nonsense or anything, and you love being around them.
The former Villanova player also said Conley has bought a settling into the lineup.
“He calms everyone down. Yes, no matter what lineup we throw there, if we put the microphone there, everything is, well, we’re going to settle here.
“It’s nothing he’s never seen before, he saw everything. He did it all. And he doesn’t necessarily have to prove anything.
Individually, like he is, he is, as if what he is, he says, “Imperfect, what do you need in the game?” And he reads it perfectly,” added Divincenzo.
The Minnesota Timberwolves currently sit in eighth place at the Western Conference, with 11 more games being played.
The Anthony Edwards-led team had a disappointing season after going to the Western Conference Finals last year, but managed to bring back the campaign.
Edwards has been on display in recent games, so is Julius Randle, but the team will also need Divinsenzo to step up to end the season.
They are in the middle of a race finishing the top six in the West, along with teams like the Golden State Warriors and La Clippers who are just ahead of them.
Divincenzo is an elite shooter and has previously proven himself in big game situations.
Divinsenzo, like Edwards and Randle, could get a look when the game gets tough.
The 28-year-old is also a great defender and can contain the best players in the opposition team if necessary.
As the regular season approaches the end, the T-wolves need the best from Divinsenzo on both ends.
