Draymond Greene easily admits that despite Dallas Maverick’s understanding of Nico Harrison’s rationale, the Dallas Maverick should not trade Luka Donsic.
Nico Harrison and Luka Donsic are forever linked. As soon as the Dallas Mavericks traded the star for the Los Angeles Lakers, fans have called for him to be fired, but the drafting of the Mavericks Cooper Flag calmed some of the rage.
Earlier this week, Doncic revealed Men’s health That he is in the best shape of his life and portrays more rage in Harrison’s direction. The general manager cited Doncic’s lack of consideration as a key reason for the transaction, and quickly proved Harrison wrong.
However, there are cases where Donsic is never in a position to silence doubts if trade never happened in the first place.
When Doncic was traded it was clear that he was not in the form of his best performance. Certainly, he missed his previous 19 games with a calf injury and dragged Dallas into the final of his previous season, so most fans were ready to overlook a slow start until the 2024-25 season.
Apparently Harrison wasn’t in that camp. He and the team owner Patrick Dumont proved Luka quickly wrong, but cited Donsic’s poor work ethic as the reason behind the trade.
Current star Draymond Green believes that if Luka hadn’t been motivated by trade, he would not have taken shape.
“Does Luka have the same fire if it’s not traded from Dallas?” Green asked in the thread. “Nico could be right (in) his way of thinking and ultimately wrong. He doesn’t play the game and Luka is one of the greatest talents we’ve seen.
While Harrison is eating Crow as Don Sic is ready to take shape and lead the Lakers next season, Green still understands the rationale, but most fans aren’t.
In the season before he was traded, Donsic led the league with points scoring at 33.9 points per game, earning an almost average triple double, making the fifth All-NBA first team in a row.
He led Dallas to his first final since 2011, scoring 28.9 points, 9.5 rebounds and 8.1 assists in the postseason. He nevertheless cemented himself as one of the best players in the world, but he was criticised in the playoffs for his lack of conditioning and discipline.
Fans quickly pointed out that even the “unhealthy” Donsic was an elite player. So trading him didn’t make much sense.
Whether he’s on a trade or not, there’s a reason to believe Donsic spent the summer at the gym.
The only right call Harrison will make is not to trade Donsic, and even if there is a flag in town, fans will continue to remind him of it.
