NBA fans know that Draymond Green and Lebron James share a strong bond from the court despite their intense on-court rivalry.
Both were represented by Klutch Sports, and they found them hanging out together many times. But Draymond Green recently dropped a bomb about their relationship.
“I hated Bron. We had nothing to do with it,” Draymond revealed honestly on the Byrds Podcast.
Of particular interest is that although he had no connection with LeBron James, Green had already established a relationship with the Lakers star’s inner circle.
“I had a relationship with Mav (Maverick Carter) and Rich (Paul),” he added.
The turning point in their relationship came after the 2017 All-Star Game, when both stars ended with Anguilla together.
Greene initially only approached Maverick about the trip, then extended the invitation. The group then spent their vacation together.
“I don’t know if there’s space on the plane, but I think LeBron probably said, ‘He’s not flying in our flight,'” recalls Draymond.
Despite this nasty beginning, this trip marked the beginning of what would become a genuine friendship.
“And just having me around the rich and Matt meant that naturally meant me and Bron were more around each other,” he added.
What solidified their bond was the perception that there were more common commonalities than we previously thought.
“Then we started to develop a relationship because I really, really noticed Bron really like me. He uses the same language I use,” explained Green.
This budding friendship developed during the peak of their on-court rivalry when they faced each other in the NBA Finals for four consecutive times.

LeBron and the Cavaliers remembered the Draymond Warriors in the epic NBA Finals in 2016, with the Warriors claiming victory in 2015, 2017 and 2018.
Despite fighting hard for the championship, Green and LeBron have found a common basis for a transcendent basketball competition.
