Ducati team boss David Tardozzi says Pecco Bagnaia is “not under pressure,” and Mark says he “trusts him” after a poor start to Motogpu 2025
Double World champion Pecco Bagnaia, who won 11 Grand Prix in 2024, is not close to winning the second round opening in 2025.
He was third-placed tie Grand Prix winner Mark Marquez in the 2.398s, and was 5.5S Adrift in fourth as his factory Ducati teammates again won.
Bagnaia, 31 points behind in the championship, is already talking about trying to find his form on returning to the full Ducati in the GP24 space from Americas GP next weekend.
Pecco Bagnaia cannot “waste” good points opportunities despite the struggles of 2025
Tardozzi claims that Ducati is “missing something” to understand why Bugnaia is struggling with, especially on the front end of the GP25, but I’m sure they’ll deal with Marquez soon.
“I just spoke to Pecco,” he told TNT Sports after the Argentine Grand Prix.
“The small, small problem with the bike didn’t give the left corner a sense of the right.
“But in the end we trust him and we’re waiting for him to be one or two more races, and I’m sure he’ll be back.
“Yeah, we know that Kota is kind of a dream part for Mark Marquez, but Qatar expects Pecco to fight him for victory.
“It’s a very difficult job to support him, but even keeping his focus on the best position he’s doing — to collect third, fourth and points, as he should score points and he shouldn’t waste them.”

Tardozzi added: “I don’t think he’s under pressure.
“There is something we don’t understand yet, and not even him.
“There are things we miss in the setting, there are things we miss out on helping him, there are things we have to talk about.
“And I think we’ll find it soon, because Pecco isn’t riding like it was at the end of last year and I don’t think he’s completely unsure of the front.
“And that’s the problem we see in the data compared to last year.”
Tardozzi also said Ducati will be working with Bagnaia on a new strategy for the race weekend and will continue running from Friday.
“We’ve already chatted with Gigi (Dall’igna) and the engineer with Pecco. We’ll do something. I’m sure we’ll help him.”
