Dwyane Wade believes the NBA has ruined Boston Celtics superstar Jason Tatum.
As the NBA defending champion, the Boston Celtics are incredible shape during the final stretch of the regular season.
The Celtics are unstoppable at this point as they have improved to a 59-20 record after a staggering overtime victory over the New York Knicks.
For the Celtics, it was the Jason Tatum Masterclass as the six times the NBA All-Star stepped up to his team when it mattered most. NBA legend Dwyane Wade feels like he’s seen this version of Tatum from afar.
Despite being undoubtedly the best player in the reigning NBA champion, Tatum has been cruelly criticized since last summer.
Whether they are limited to Team USA’s limited minutes during the Parisio Games or whether they will not receive flowers as one of the best players in the NBA this season. D-Wade believes this set the fire under JT before the postseason.
“One of the worst things that happened in the league was that Jason Tatum was slowly turned ___. Usually, when you win a championship, a flower, you can relax and bow your head.”
Tatum currently averages 26.9 points, 8.7 rebounds and 6.0 assists per game, locking in an impressive 45.2% off the field and 34.4% off the 3-point line.
Tatum has been heavily criticized by both the media and fans, even for leading his team to the second seed of the Eastern Conference with sensational numbers.
Wade was surprised at him as he already showed that he knows how to win it all. With that in mind, the Miami Heat legend wanted “good luck” for the rest of the NBA.
“He didn’t admit it, he’ll come back with a tip. It’s difficult, it’s hard when someone who has had a tip on his shoulder and knows how to win, it’s hard.”
Tatum gave a preview of Wade’s rating and hit a cold-blooded three-point shot to face the Knicks in the fourth quarter.
Overall, Tatum’s 32 points, seven rebounds and five assists 48 minutes allowed the Celtics to register an impressive 119-117 OT victory.
