The Golden State Warriors are stomping on thin ice as the 2025 NBA playoffs continue.
The Golden State Warriors are stuck in a problematic place as Stephen Curry was injured in a hamstring strain on the left.
Curry has been coming ever since he was hit in Game 1 and injured with the Minnesota Timber Wolves. The Golden State Warriors then dropped the next two games and entered Game 4, 2-1 in the series.
There are already target dates for Curry’s target returns, but the question for the Warriors now is whether they can still get to that point and avoid elimination against T-wolves.
Jimmy Butler now realizes he is leading the Golden State, but he is not enough to carry the load.
Meanwhile, Draymond Green deals with a personal battle where his outburst of emotions may put the Warriors in even more danger.
Steve Kerr has already shuffled the deck, particularly with historic 14-man rotations in Game 2, but the curry shoes are too big for the rest of the team.
With awfully fast-handed, Dwyane Wade offered the Warriors a bold temporary solution while facing a deep, talented team like Minnesota, where Anthony Edwards raised the flag. He gave Jonathan Cuminga more reps and exposure.
“I understand that without Steph Curry there wasn’t enough time to put anything different time. I know it’s difficult to throw it. It took a bit of time. You need to look at a little different game plan.
“We obviously need to see a game plan featuring Jimmy Butler and Jonathan Cuminga,” NBA legend told his Timeout podcast.
“Now, we need to see Jonathan Cuminga being protected, so we need to see Jonathan Cuminga being protected. If I’m not a coach, I need that young man, I need him to let him go.
“But young man, you can go on to win 30 and 40.”
Interestingly, Kuminga streamed in Golden State’s latest game, tallying a team-high 30 points in the previous game 3 with six boards and three assists in 36 minutes from the bench.
Despite the loss of 102-97, what Kuminga showed is merely promising for both Kerr and the Warriors. Beyond the fact that he made the necessary step ups in the wake of Curry’s inactivity, it shows his preparation and professionalism in the DNP he endured this postseason.
“I’m giving him confidence. We need to see from the coaching staff there how we can put together a game plan to highlight Jimmy Butler’s strengths,” Wade further said regarding Kuminga.
“I didn’t say Jimmy is getting 40. Jimmy isn’t taking 10 shots in a row. That’s not who he is. He’s going to pass the ball and he tries to play the game the right way, so he’s going to look a little passive at times.
“So we need someone else who doesn’t have the same mentality. And there’s only one guy over there. Let me do a young blowjob rock.
As curry seeks a highly anticipated comeback, the Warriors will continue to make the most of Cuminga production. And the sense of Golden State can only accept it as a special opportunity to prove himself and send a statement to anyone he suspects.
