One Eastern Conference player thinks he is as good as Kevin Durant and Klay Thompson, but Stephen Curry is on top of that.
Stephen Curry is considered by many to be the greatest shooter of all time. But sometimes it’s easy to forget how many great shooters there are in the NBA today.
Curry and the Warriors popularized three-point shots, showing people that the jump-shoot team can be successful in the NBA.
Since Curry rose to superstars, several players in the NBA have made three-point shooting a pivotal part of their skill set.
However, one NBA player believes he is the best three-point shooter outside of curry, on the same level as any other greatest shooter of all time.
Michael Porter Jr. recently did a stream featuring popular influencer Plaque BoyMax. When discussing the best three-point shooter in the NBA, MPJ has become the best.
Porter Jr. claimed that Stephen Curry is the best shooter in the NBA, but other stars like Kevin Durant, Klay Thompson and Trae Young are players who at least have him on the same level.
“Stephen Curry. That’s the only thing I’m giving as the clear “like the elite, you can shoot better than me.” There’s a guy on the same level.
“If I get to the gym like Duncan Robinson, he can probably shoot with me.
Porter Jr. is a powerful shooter. In fact, his claim that he is on the same level as players like Kevin Durant and Klay Thompson is actually correct.
Michael Porter Jr. is actually very correct as he is the best shooter in the NBA and with the exception of Stephen Curry, his numbers support this claim.
The table below shows Michael Porter Jr.’s career 3-point percentage compared to all other players he mentioned. (All shooters are from 2018 to 2025)
| player | Photography rate (2018-2025) |
| Michael Porter Jr. | 40.6% |
| Clay Thompson | 40.2% |
| Kevin Durant | 40.5% |
| Trae Young | 35.2% |
| Damian Lillard | 37.2% |
| Duncan Robinson | 39.7% |
The fact that Porter Jr.’s filming rates since his debut are better than those of Kevin Durant, Klay Thompson and Damian Lillard.
At Brooklyn Net, Porter Junior appears to play the role of the Nicola Jokic type. However, he should not leave his three-point fire as he is his strongest asset.
