Eddie Hearn is ready to welcome Dana White into the boxing world.
This Saturday marks White’s official foray into boxing as the UFC CEO will serve as a co-promoter for the highly anticipated superfight between Canelo Alvarez and Terrence Crawford. The match launched White’s TKO boxing project, and the 56-year-old executive was offensive as he spoke about wanting to rebuild the industry.
Hearn praises White’s enthusiasm and ambitions, but the matchroom boxing chairman has abandoned the gauntlet if he thinks White will come soon and become the top man in boxing.
“Does he want to be boxing CEO?” Hearn said. Stepping stone. “Because they’re trying to change the behavior of Muhammad Ali. We saw it. …Listen, I’ll say that what you say is you won’t see me slag from Dana White. I’m a boxing promoter, so I look forward to him entering the space.
“But we can work together, but ultimately it depends on how they pilot them. Everyone is a sport competitor, but many of those competitors are the many competitors we work for the benefit of our business, fighter jets, sports, and we hope that it’s the same as Dana.”
White, along with Saudi promoter Turki Alalshikh, is the driving force behind the Muhammad Ali American Boxing Revival Act, a bill that dramatically changes the conditions of the original Muhammad Ali Boxing Reform Act, previously served by the original Muhammad Ali Boxing Reform Act, enacted in 2000. Therefore, it strictly limits your maximum pay and career options.
On Monday, the new bill was widely condemned by callers during the public portion of the California State Athletics Board meeting, and approval of the bill urged to postpone a committee that plans to form a subcommittee to further consider the proposal.
White was actually caught up in a heated debate at a press conference on Thursday, promoting Canelo and Crawford, and boxing reporter Sean Zittel was asked about the revival law, and White told Zittel:
White may be reluctant to discuss the finer points of his business with the media, but he is willing to trade promotional jabs with Hearn, who he considers to be his friend.
“My Eddie Eddie Hearn, I love him, I admire him, I saw him today, he’s talking smack there,” White said. Jim Roma Show. “He said, ‘Dana is wrong, he can’t do this, and what he’s doing is different, everyone is doing the same, so I look forward to competing with him. You know I love this kind of thing.
“I’m looking forward to that too, Eddie. I can’t wait.”
White didn’t have much honest message to them about other big names in boxing that might want to keep him out.
“All boxing guys who want to talk crap and talk about all your smacks: three of the biggest fights in boxing history, (Manny) Pacquiao – (Floyd) Mayweather, (Connor) McGregor Mayweather, and now Crawford Canelo, I’m part of the three biggest fights in boxing history. “Suck it, boy.”
