Edmen Shabajan surpassed Andre Petrosky in his eighth career victory over Andre Petrosky at UFC Atlanta.
After a relatively late start, Shahbajan picked up things in the final minute of the opening round, breaking Petrosky with his hard left hand that wobbled the enemy. Shahbajan also landed a lightning body kick that echoed throughout the arena.
Unfortunately, the pace wasn’t picked up much at the second pace. Petrosky finally managed to take Shabajan to the mat near the halfway point of the round, but it only took a few seconds for Shabajan to swing him and return immediately.
Shabajan landed a lovely combination in about 30 seconds to go to the round, but he couldn’t take advantage of the moment.
The third and final rounds opened almost immediately with a head collision that brought a short pause to the action. Perhaps it was pissing Shabajan off as he shaking out as soon as the fight resumed. Petrosky used it as an opportunity to win a takedown, but as before, Shabajan quickly reverted to his feet and separated.
Midway through the round, Shabajan landed a vicious body kick that folded Petrosky. Shabajan swarmed and landed the ground and pounds before he could bring Petrosky back to his feet. Upon retreating, Shabajan knew for the rest of the round he was likely to know that he was heading for a unanimous decision victory.
