Elena Rybakina, Liudmila Samsonova set to Strasbourg Final

Elena Rybakina and Liudmila Samsonova will meet in the final at the Internationalaux de Strasbourg in France.

Seeded fourth in the tournament, Rybakina surpassed nine Beatriz Haddad Maia 7-6 (7), 1-6, 6-2 in 2 hours and 46 minutes on Friday.

Rybakina hit eight aces to save eight of the 11 breakpoints and fought the setpoint in the opening tiebreak.

No. 8 seed Samsonova spent an easy time against unseeded Daniel Collins, winning the semi-finals 6-4, 6-2 in 87 minutes. She tallied four aces and saved five of her seven breakpoints.

Samsonova won four of his five meetings with Rybakina. Rybakina won the latest clash in three sets in the Abu Dhabi semifinals in 2024.
