Liverpool is reportedly not currently pursuing the relocation of Paris Saint-Germain left winger Bradley Barcola.
There has been speculation about the Reds showing strong interest in Barcola, but it appears they are currently not looking for a signature in that position.
That’s because Rio Nugumoha was so impressed in the preseason that Liverpool doesn’t want anything to block the route to the first team, according to Athletic.
Ngumoha looks like an outstanding prospect and while he may have a big future at Anfield, it is also a great pressure to turn 16.
In contrast, Barcola is already more proven and could have immediate impact. Perhaps it will help him get into the spotlight from Ngumoha in the coming years before he is truly ready to become an automatic starter.
Does Liverpool need to sign Bradley Barcola?
Liverpool recently sold Louis Diaz to Bayern Munich, so there may definitely be room for another left-handed offensive player on Arne Slot’s team.
Barcola seems ideal, and he’s someone who may be moving in the near future, as he’s not sure he’s a regular starter for PSG.
There are plenty of offensive options on Luis Enrique’s side, and since his travels from Naples in January, Khvicha Kvaratskhelia looks particularly impressive.
It’s a bit like a rash to put all the eggs in a ngumoha basket, so to speak, as it is, Liverpool may not be able to get another chance to sign Barcola or someone on his profile right away.
Still, there will be plenty of LFC supporters who are pleased with the club’s commitment to bringing through their own homemade players.
Ngumoha actually started at the Chelsea academy, but has clearly made progress since moving to Anfield, indicating that his preseason form is ready soon.
