After enduring “probably the worst race of my career” at the UK MotoGP, 2024 Silverstone winner Enea Bastianini asked KTM “to do something for me, because it’s impossible to continue like this.”
The Austrian factory appears to have responded quickly with an invitation to Austria for some aerodynamic tests ahead of this weekend’s Aragon Round.
“I will go to Austria on the next day, just before the Aragon Race weekend, to do certain aerodynamic tests that will help me make the necessary progress,” he said.
“We are also undergoing important tests in Aragon on Monday after the Exploit race.
“I hope KTM will help me this week and support me with new ideas.
“I really like Motorland, but at this point we have to be realistic about our level.
“We don’t feel good on the bike, so we’re far from the rest, so we’ll have to go step by step starting on Friday and see how we’ll move on from there. As usual, I’ll explain to you the best.”
“We talked a long after the race.”
Ducati’s seventh-time Grand Prix winner, Bastianini was just 17th in the finish line for Motogup in England.
“Enea Bastianini… I can’t feel the bike now,” admitted Nicolas Goyon, Tech3 Team Manager.
“Silverstone was his worst weekend of the season. We discussed it for a long time with him after the race. We try to approach Aragon differently with new ideas.
“Winning in 2022, I know he’s getting faster in that layout. We’ll do everything to see the real DNA of ENEA. Let’s be positive and work hard!”

Maverick Vinall, 2025 UK Motogpu
Maverick Vinall’s “A Bad Weekend Isolated”
After three strong rounds, teammate Maverick Vinares also dropped out of the top 10 with Silverstone. This is mainly because he was 18th in the qualifying round.
“Maverick has clearly been performing poorly in the UK because they missed all the key moments of the weekend following some issues,” Goyong said.
“It’s an isolated, bad weekend and I believe he will continue his progress in Aragon.
Vinales will tackle performance issues experienced in silverstone cold and low grip conditions during official Aragon testing on Monday.
However, he insisted:
“It’s important to work the right way from Friday, reach Q2 and get a good starting position.
“Anyway, I enjoy Motorland so much. It’s nice to race at a Spanish home with family and friends, so let’s have fun this weekend!”
Vinall finished 11th in the World Championships, 9th in the lag, 13 points behind Pedro Acosta’s top KTM. Brad Binder is 14th and Bastianini is 15th.
