2025/26 In the month before the Premier League campaign begins, all of the English elites will begin to prepare.
But while another tough domestic campaign may be coming closer to the horizon, the 2026 World Cup is in the distance, with Thomas Touchel already setting his sights in the US.
Enduring what jealously caused the start of annoying under the former Chelsea boss, Touchel already seems to have a real team dilemma in his hands next summer.
Something like skipper Harry Kane might already nail their place, but many English internationals are desperate to start their careers ahead of next summer’s tournament.
For many of the three Lions’ biggest names, we’ve seen what summer summer is, some of the England aces looking to revive their careers from the Premier League.
Jack Greyle – Manchester City
There may have been a lot of excitement around Etihad in the summer of 2021, but the 29-year-old couldn’t find his foot in Manchester’s blue half as Jack Grelish completed a record £100 million switch from Aston Villa.
Despite securing three Premier League titles and appearing in Man City’s iconic European success in 2023, Grelish notched only 12 Premier League goals in his four-year stint.
Pep Guardiola may have publicly praised the former Villa skipper, but Grelish revealed this summer that he was not included in City’s Club World Cup team and that he is not part of the former Barcelona boss plan.
The city’s final five appearances in the 2024/25 campaign will be handed over Premier League action for just one minute, with 39 Cap International being pushed out of the Etihad exit.
While Napoli, the newly crowned Italian champion, may not be able to match Grelish’s reported wages of £300,000 a week, Antonio Conte is a huge admirer of makeshift city star, and Napoli feels that the 29-year-old is the perfect place to start his career.
“Naples has £45 million to spend on either Jacques Grelish or Alejandro Garnacho, but they don’t take both.”

Jadon Sancho – Manchester United
Jadon Sancho may have been selected as the winner of the Europa Conference League at Chelsea in May, but Bruce took over the opportunity to make the 25-year-old switch to London a permanent one.
Sancho’s return to Old Trafford appears to be just a short stay as Enzo Maresca’s team chooses to pay a £5 million penalty to send the former Borussia Dortmund Ace back to Manchester United.
Despite arriving at Old Trafford in 2021 with a BVB and a reported £73 million, the Manchester City youngster has revealed he has no interest in reviving United’s career, unable to find his feet.
Currently in the final year of his contract with Manchester, Reuben Amorim has no plans to return Sancho to the fold. It is strongly suggested that 23-cap International will not return for preseason training.
Napoli may have previously linked to a dive in the Wan Tai United forward, but it was Juventus in the driver’s seat, and Sancho moved his top priorities to Turin this summer.
After the Jonathan David Deal was over, Juventus called again this week at Man United and Jadon Sancho camps.
Fenerbahce has been out of the race and has not received any specific consultations. Juventus reached out to discuss the terms of the transaction.

Marcus Rashford – Manchester United
Spending the second half of the 2024/25 campaign on loan at Aston Villa, Marcus Rashford finds himself in about the same position as Sancho, and is in the midst of a very troublesome divorce from his boyhood club.
The 27-year-old, who has revealed that the public has dropped out of Amorim and has no intention of rebuilding the Old Trafford bridge, finds himself at a major career crossroads.
Last month, Rashford appears desperate for a stint outside the Premier League as villa hierarchies announced they would not activate the £40 million penetration clause.
The incumbent La Liga Champion is currently looking to bolster an alternative attack last week as Nico Williams watched Spain International complete a sensational U-turn across his move to Barcelona.
Linking with his move to Catalonia during the January transfer period, Rashford is desperate to secure the much-anticipated move to Nucamp, making it a secret that initial consultations have been held over the past few months.
fc fc barcelona understands that they want to try again for Marcus #rashford.
Lewis Diaz’s move is so unlikely at the moment, Barca has resumed consultations with Rashford.
