England center Fraser Dingwall will miss Sunday’s game against Argentina, with Bath’s Max Ojomo expected to start in midfield.

Dingwall was named as a potential partner for Henry Slade earlier this week, but was withdrawn due to injury on Friday.

Ojomo, 25, won his only cap for England in the summer against the United States. He has also represented England at Under-18 and Under-20 level.

England have had to deal with a variety of injuries throughout the autumn season, with Tom Roebuck also missing this weekend’s game.

Elliot Daly will take his place on the wing, having returned to action after breaking his arm while playing for the British and Irish Lions in the summer.

Injuries to center Ollie Lawrence and hooker Jamie George in last week’s win over the All Blacks ended both autumn campaigns. Tommy Freeman has also not played since the win against Fiji two weeks ago.

Freddie Steward will maintain his fullback position, with Immanuel Faye-Waboso slotting in on the right wing.

Head coach Steve Borthwick also rotated his squad slightly, with Ben Spencer starting at scrum-half in place of Alex Mitchell on the bench.

In the forwards, Asher Opoku-Fordjule will start at prop alongside Luke Cowan-Dickie and Ellis Genge.

England: Freddie Steward, Immanuel Faye-Waboso, Henry Slade, Max Ojomo, Elliot Daly, George Ford, Ben Spencer, Ellis Genge (vice-captain), Luke Cowan-Dickie, Asher Opoku-Fordjule, Maro Itoje (captain), Alex Coles, Guy Pepper, Sam Underhill, Ben Earl.

Alternatives: Theo Dunn, Finn Baxter, Will Stewart, Charlie Ewells, Tom Curry, Henry Pollock, Alex Mitchell, Marcus Smith.
