Erik Spoelstra is a product of the well-known Miami fever culture.

Speaking of SPO coaches, he has worn multiple hats for the heat throughout his coaching career.
Following a four-year NCAA stint with Portland pilots, Spoelstra was not drafted during the 1992 NBA draft. But it was a blessing of disguise for the young SPO.
In 1995, Spoelstra joined the Heat as a video coordinator, but it took me just two years to win promotions and become an assistant coach.
Spoelstra then served as Heat’s assistant coach until the end of the 2007-08 season. During his time as an assistant coach, Spoelstra served as the director of scouting for the franchise since 2001.
With the Heat going 15-67 during the 2007-08 season, Pat Riley decided to resign as head coach, and Spulstra was promoted to take over the duties.
It’s been 17 seasons since Spoelstra became Heat’s head coach, and the organization has enjoyed some great seasons under his leadership.
Of course, the 2011-12 and 2012-13 campaigns stand out the most as the Heat won back-to-back NBA titles in these seasons.
However, even if LeBron James’ departure and Dwyane Wade declined, the heat never showed any signs of disbelief in Spulstra.
The SPO manager paid off his trust by leading the Heat to two NBA Finals during his time at Butler.
Over the years, Spoelstra has been approaching, but has never won the NBA Coach of the Year Award. Nevertheless, he is considered one of the 15 great coaches in NBA history.
Despite going through multiple rebuild phases, Spoelstra led the Heat to a 787-572 record in 17 seasons as head coach.
