Erin Blanchefield fired at Macy Barber.
Prior to this Saturday night in Las Vegas high stakes flyweight collision, Barber denounced Blanchefield’s “awful fighting style” and blew her out as a “boring” fighter while appearing on the Ariel Hellwanishaw.
A day later, Brunchfield returns to Barber and reveals that she is happy with her balanced skill set, even if it is the most fan-friendly. She also delved into Barber’s high octane style. She fully expects it to come out at some point in the five-round event.
“Most of the time, I feel like I’m brushing it off,” Blanchefield said Wednesday at UFC Vegas 107 Media Day. “People have to say what they have to say. I know who I am as a fighter, and I know I shine well. Macy is a pretty aggressive fighter. A lot of forward pressure. Big hook. This is her first five rounds.
Erin Blanchfield and Macy Barber are probably competing for future flyweight title shots
Branchfield is solid at 7-1 in the octagon, causing her only loss to the recent UFC title Challenger Man Non-Fiorot. Along the way, she received notable victories over Miranda Maverick, JJ Aldrich, Molly McCann, Jessica Andrade and Thera Santos. However, it was her victory over former two-time strawweight champion “thugs” Rosenama Junas, and one victory from securing her first shot at UFC Gold.
As for Barber, “The Future” will enter the first main event with six consecutive wins and a 14-2 overall record. But it’s been more than a year since Barber competed within the Octagon. Her final outing was a unanimous decision against Catlinselminara in March 2024.
Like Blanchfield, Barber’s victory would line her up in the next line for a shot at the flyweight top prize.
