ESPN experts will give a verdict on whether the New York Knicks can trade back with Dontedi Vincento

Prior to the 2024-25 season, trades changed the future of the New York Knicks.

Trade in the New York Knicks’ Karl Anthony Towns sent Donte Divinsenzo and Julius Randle to the Minnesota Timberwolves. And it was trade that was widely seen as the Knicks won.

The rating has not been very clear in recent weeks. Randle and Divincenzo helped the Timberwolves win a straight game, but the Knicks were unable to win a big match against a true elite opponent.

Stephen A. Smith recently lamented the Knicks’ “personality port,” noting that it lacked some of the aggression they brought to their team.

Donte Divincenzo was loved by New York Knicks fans. New York Knicks fans recognized the spirit he showed in the game and the connection he had with his former Villanova teammate.

Divincenzo recently teamed up with Julius Randle, Josh Hart and Mikal Bridges as part of the March Madness commercial.

He has played well for the Timberwolves since returning from injury. Whether it’s the nostalgia of “Novanix” or a true desire for a comeback, the question was raised whether the New York Knicks could trade back for Don Tedi Vincento.

ESPN expert Tim Bontemps was asked about the potential he could have seen on Ian Begley and Sny’s The Putback podcast.

Bontemps did not dismiss the option as impossible, but in 2025 it would not consider the 28-year-old trade as a viable option for either team.

Bontemps: “It could happen at some point in the future, yes, just like these people are 35, I was able to see it happening at some point.

“The Knicks gave up on him because Minnesota treasured him and his skill set. He’s got a great deal.

A few months later, Donte Divinsenzo settled for the Minnesota Timberwolves, earning praise from his coach for his performance.

At the turn of the year, he said he was happy in his new home where he was raising his family, but the first deal wasn’t that easy.

At the beginning of the season he had to uproot and head to Minnesota.

Will he return to New York? probably. But as Bontemps points out, this will be a move for several years. Not this summer, but unexpected things can happen in an instant.
