David Moet did an amazing job after returning as Everton’s manager. He immediately guided the club out of danger and maintained its ever-present Premier League status for another season.
He was taken to replace Sean Dish in January and took Toffee on a great run to see them pulled away from the threat of an upcoming relegation.
The club has had three defeats since the Scots arrived at Goodison Park, facing current Top-for-side Chelsea, Manchester City and local rival Liverpool.
However, this summer, as the club prepares to move to the Bramley-Moore Dock Stadium, it offers new opportunities for the club and allows the hierarchy to rise to the next level.
If he does exactly that in 2025/26, he will need to add more during the summer transfer period and there is already a move in order to get the tools he wants.
Latest news on Everton’s hunt for a new signature this summer
With summer approaching rapidly, Everton has already wasted time targeting reinforcements, with Leicester City’s Wilfried Ndidi back on the list.
The Nigerian was a huge target 12 months ago, but extended their stay at King Power until the latest report claimed interest had rekindled after the fox’s relegation.
However, according to TBR, he is not the only player currently on the radar.
The report says the hierarchy is already in talks with the Ligue 1 outfit over a potential deal after scoring 14 goals with 28 appearances in the campaign.
Although no fees have been mentioned for his services, Fulham, Brentford and West Ham United claim to be also avid admirers of the 22-year-old Dutch talent.
Why Everton’s goal is a Beto upgrade
Everton striker Beto has created a list of excitement for the summer of 2023 after joining the club on a £30 million deal from Italian side Udinese.
However, the 27-year-old endured a stop-start at Merseyside, making 67 appearances in two seasons, often backing up Dominic Calver Trewin.
The British struggle for injury led him to return to the starting eleven, scoring six times in 26 league outings in 2024/25.
He is now unable to score any of his last eight outings, leading to criticism from his supporters – casting doubts about his long-term future under new ownership.
Given his lack of form, Emega’s potential move makes a lot of sense and will undoubtedly offer Moys an upgrade to his current options, helping him raise his level for next year.
Labeled as “superficial” by talent scout Jacek Kulig, the Dutchman has been carved more than twice the number of targets, achieving higher target accuracy, highlighting his clinical nature in the attacking area.
He also completed many of the passes he tried, but handed Moyes a great all-round option to help with link-up play, registering a more progressive carry in the final third.

Despite interest from the other English side ahead of the summer, Toffee may have to act quickly to land his signature and improve his attacking division.
The lack of goals within the side is undoubtedly a source of concern, and Moyes and the hierarchy must address the situation during the upcoming window.
Emega is a great option for the club, having the opportunity to become a club star man when he moves to a new stadium, and given his soft age he has the tools to improve even further.
