Arsenal expert Charles Watts is sure the club won’t sign two new strikers this summer, as there is a big investment in the wingers as well.
Gunners have a clear and obvious problem with the offense at this point, just being knocked out of the Champions League semi-finals, confirming another trophyless campaign.
Arsenal was considered one of the favourites of the Premier League’s major titles before the start of the season, but goals have been a problem throughout the season, even before the injuries of Kaihaberts and Gabriel Jesus.
Watts believes Arsenal will be able to see a big sign-out for those who can drift to the center and add creativity to such areas.
Xavi Simons or Sloping King to arsenal?
I write in his latest exclusive column Catch off sideWatts revealed he is confident that major Arsenal investments will be widespread this summer.
And he still doesn’t know who the club will sign, but he took care to name Xavi Simons and Eberechi Eze the player profile.
“The reason why Arsenal won’t see them buying two strikers this summer is because I think they’ll spend a lot of money on another winger,” Watts said.
“It’s clear that they need to broaden another option. Someone who can add to what they already have and help them open the game.
“I don’t know if it has to be an out-and-out winger, like I said last week. It could be someone who can deploy widely, but drift into the central area and shares the creative burden with Martin Odegard.
Can the current winger leave Arsenal?
Despite the possibility of a new winger’s move, Watts revealed that he can’t see things like Leandro Trossard or Gabriel Martinelli leaving.
He states:
“Arsenal needs a lot of good offensive options. Arteta needs to have enough players at his disposal to spin with confidence and rest if necessary.”
