Manchester City has bid for Porto goalkeeper Diogo Costa as Manchester United rivals are also looking to make potential moves for the players.
Sources close to the situation have notified us Catch off side There appears to be a fierce fight to sign Costa this summer, his release clause is set at 75 million euros, but Porto is happy to consider an offer that is close to the figure of around 60 million euros.
Man City has provided Costa with 40 million euros so far, but that’s not enough. Catch off side I understand that cities are expected to increase their offers.
However, Man Wood could also be involved as Reuben Amorim wants to sign an upgrade for Goal Andre Onana.
They are at the back of the city in the Portuguese International signing race at the moment, so they need to move fast to maintain a realistic opportunity to get this deal done.
Diogo Costa to Manchester United or Manchester City this summer?
Costa shines for Porto, and in a way it’s surprising that he hasn’t already achieved any major moves, but it is understood that he has reserved about relocating his family to the UK.
The 25-year-old is clearly enough to play at a very high level, so the Manchester club will surely do everything possible to persuade him.
Now when it comes to choosing between City and United, it’s certainly easy if Costa wants to play for the successful aspect that allows him to win a major trophy.
United are currently in turmoil, with Reuben Amorim’s side down much further down in 15th place in the Premier League table.
City hasn’t had a great season with their high standards, but I’m sure they’re likely to try the title again before they’re too long, but United appears to be facing a long rebuilding job before considering competing for the top four.
Costa could have helped a lot by providing MUFC with a much-needed alternative to Onana, but he certainly didn’t risk it and instead went to Etihad Stadium.
