The Los Angeles are starting their second straight offseason, looking to reshape their roster after winning the championship. There were some obvious problems on the road to baseball’s first back-to-back championship in a quarter-century last season, but one of the biggest issues that seemed to be holding back the was the depth of their outfield.
Offensively, aside from the emergence of Andy Pages, the batting line was quiet for most of the regular season, but defense was always an issue, and an inconsistent offense slowed the lineup at many points during the 2025 season.
USA Today insider Bob Nightengale recently linked All-Star left fielder Stephen Kwan to the as a possible trade, especially after L.A. pursued him before the trade deadline.

Kwan hit .272 last season with a career-high 56 RBIs. Not only was he a second All-Star selection, he also won a Gold Glove Award as a left fielder. His defensive prowess and team control over the next three seasons will make him an invaluable asset if a deal is finalized.
Kwan was one of the best players in baseball, not only in terms of arm strength but also discipline at the plate.
He ranked in the 100th percentile in whiff rate, just 8.7% of the time, which was even farther than the average MLB hitter. His strikeout rate was also 8.7 percent, which was in the 99th percentile. A player who can consistently get on base on a hard-hitting team like the could help score extra points and get more scoring opportunities if that talent is brought to Stadium.
According to Baseball Savant, Kwan finished in the 90th percentile among MLB players in terms of above-average outs and was rated in the 100th percentile in arm value. With Teoscar Hernández in one corner of the outfield, adding Kwan could be very beneficial in upgrading the defense.
