It could be a busy summer for Liverpool, and many changes are expected at the club.
Trent Alexander Arnold is likely to join Real Madrid after refusing to sign a new contract with the club.
Mohamed Sara has already signed his new contract at Anfield, which will run until 2027, and Virgil van Dick is expected to do the same.
The Reds are approaching their Premier League title every week, and once again suggesting that their latest victory over West Ham United at Anfield is England’s best team this season.
However, manager Arne Slot will need to make changes to bolster the side next season, one of which is the signature of a new striker.
David Ornstein confirmed that Reds striker Darwin Nunes is expected to leave the club in the summer.
The Uruguayan attacker has linked it to Saudi Arabia’s move to the professional league after struggling at Anfield this season.
Ornstein said on NBC Sports:
“It’s a different situation from Trent Alexander Arnold, and I hope he will leave for Real Madrid as a free agent at the end of the season.
“Perhaps because Liverpool, and FSG in that respect, are behind the younger players who have made it through the system here at Anfield.
“It’s going to be a really busy summer with recruitment, and I think they’ll be in the mix between Dean Huyssen’s centre half of Bournemouth and Milos Kerkez, left-back at Bournemouth.
Liverpool is working on replacing Nunes
Nunez has only scored seven goals this season in his 42 appearances for the club.
Liverpool needs a reliable presence in front of goals. He is someone who can share the burden of scoring goals with Sara.
The Reds are actively looking for a new name to lead offensive next season.
Eintracht Frankfurt attacker Hugo Ekitike is strongly linked to the move to Anfield, replacing Nunez.
The 22-year-old has scored 21 goals for a German club this season, attracting the attention of some of the biggest clubs.
