It appears that Alexander Isaac will likely be staying at Newcastle United despite his strong transfer interest from Liverpool.
This commented on the fascinating saga that Liverpool striker will be transferred this summer, according to football finance expert Stefan Borson.
The Reds are planning to sell Darwin Nunes to a club owned by PIF in the Saudi Arabian Professional League. This means the same money that funds Newcastle will help the LFC sign Magpie star players.
The focus of many Liverpool fans is on how to buy Community Shield tickets for upcoming games with Crystal Palace, but there is also plenty of eye on the market.
Is Alexander Isaac realistic for Liverpool?
Talking to football insiders, Bourson discussed how much potential Isaac’s potential deal could be, and how an interesting connection he could have with the Nunes Saga.
“If Liverpool can get crazy fees from Saudi Arabia for Nunes, let’s say £150 million on the table, to the points they can put,” Bourson said.
“I don’t know, but maybe you’ve just got the madness of a situation where PIF is paying Liverpool players, and Liverpool is paying them back the money via Newcastle.
“By the way, if that happens, there’s a very good opportunity for people to see the deal and say, ‘Wait a minute, those transactions seem to be connected.’
“On the other hand, you have a Newcastle United linked party that buys players from Liverpool, and you buy Liverpool from Newcastle, a Saudi Arabian subsidiary. So I think this deal has all sorts of challenges.
Liverpool is also working on signing Hugo Ekitike
Similar to its link with ISAK, it has also been reported that Liverpool is in discussions to sign Hugo Ekitique in Aintrak Frankfurt.
Athletic is one of the outlets reporting on this, and the LFC clearly doesn’t put all the eggs in one basket.
Ekitique is probably the more realistic option of the two, as Newcastle will do everything possible to avoid selling Isaac to Liverpool.
The talented young Frenchman brilliant in the Bundesliga last season, finishing his 2024/25 campaign with an impressive tally of 22 goals and 11 assists in all competitions.
