Marcus Rashford doesn’t seem to have a future for Man United, but it’s inevitable that he will permanently leave his boyhood club. As things stand, Aston Villa becomes a favorite to keep his services, but we are still not sure they are aiming to do so.
Rashford joined Aston Villa during the winter transfer window after being no longer liked at Man United under new head coach Reuben Amorim. Things were going pretty well at Villa Park, with the £40 million option to sign a contract between the two clubs allowing him to stay permanently.
Rashford deals may depend on the end of Aston Villa season
The Villa has yet to decide whether they will seek a permanent deal at Rashford, but as football finance expert Stephen Bourson told football insiders, it doesn’t rely on PSG. Rather, it may depend on whether UNAI Emery’s side finish has finished at the Premier League Champions League location.
“It would be interesting to see what the date is in the options. It’s probably June 30th, so they can make a decision at the end, not PSR, but perhaps relying on Champions League qualifications.
“This is because if you do math at Rashford incremental costs this season, points don’t make a difference. If you buy Rashford on June 30th, amortization is the next season, so it won’t affect your PSR position at all.
“Of course, the impact on PSR next season will depend on the Champions League. That will make a very important difference in what the numbers look like, along with their calculations and profits and everything else.”
