Arsenal has seen Atalanta’s winger Ademora Lookman this summer, according to transfer expert and journalist Alfredo Pedura.
I write in his latest exclusive column Catch off sidePedulla discussed the latest in Lookman’s Future this summer after a long saga linking him to Inter Milan.
Pedulla also noted that Lookman is on Arsenal’s radar, following up on what he had previously recorded Catch off side.
“Lookman was seduced by Inter and put aside for 4-5 million people. This is a story with only a few precedents,” writes Pedura. “How can you trust someone who returns to wearing an Atalanta shirt after such outrageous behavior?
“As I mentioned, outside of Italy, Arsenal has been interested in Lookman. It’s unclear whether that chapter will resume.”
Does Arsenal need an Ademora Look Man?
Arsenal fans will certainly welcome someone on Lookman’s profile, but it’s unclear if they need him now that they’re locked up Ebech Eze in bringing him to Emirates Stadium.
The Lookman, who scored 20 goals and seven assists last season, is equally skillfully wide enough to run from the left or in a more central role, so the AFC will probably struggle to fit both.
Still, it makes sense that Nigeria International was at least considered by the Gunners, as it appears to be a perfect fit for Mikel Arteta’s side.
What’s next for Lookman after a long transfer saga?
Lookman’s future was doubtful for the summer, but he has yet to gain a move on himself.
The 27-year-old is good enough to step up to clubs like Arsenal and Inter, but it remains to be seen whether Atalanta will let him go.
As Pedulla points out, Lookman clearly has done a lot of damage to his relationship with Atalanta, so it’s hard to see him have a future there, but they certainly want a big fee to let him go.
