“Eventful” Qatar Motog was penalised for a clash with Joan Mir and Clip Jorge Martin when the world champion fell in front of him after contact from Alex Marquez.
The VR46 Ducati Rider descended on the flight start and soon began to mix with the front group.
However, things were resolved when Alex Marquez reached third in an offensive attempt and Diggia’s spear was sent off track and until the 21st. Marquez was later given a long lap penalty for irresponsible riding.

“It was a turbulent race. I started off really well. Today I had a pace to build the podium so I was fighting for the top,” the VR46 rider said.
“And then a strange manipulation by Alex. A dangerous manipulation by Alex.
“That’s a shame because I don’t think there’s much of a mistake like this at the level of our riders in this championship, especially with regard to the penalties we received in the case of these mistakes, that’s a bit of a limit.
“In the end, the rider who completely destroyed my race ended up in 7th place (6th after the Maverick Vinall penalty) and lost his chance to race well, so I think we have to work for the future.”

Alex Marquez, Giannantonio, 2025 Qatar Motogpu
Di Giannantonio’s comeback was temporarily stopped once again when he was punished for contact with Joan Mir and was told to surrender his position.
Much more horror continued when Martin, whose lap times had fallen when he entered unknown late-race territory on his return from injury, crashed just before Digia at the exit of Turn 12.
The Italians had no chance to avoid Martin as Martin slid down the track and rode the rest of the Grand Prix worried about the Spaniard’s condition. Martin was then diagnosed with 11 fractures in his rib.
“We had the potential to create a podium. Looking at my pace, it was amazing. But more than anything, I’m very happy that Giorge Martin is (relatively) fine.” he said.
“This is the most important thing because we know how dangerous the sport is. He knows. Everyone knows. And it’s great to keep him okay today.”
Di Giannantonio ultimately scored points in 16th place, but teammate Franco Morbidelli was promoted to the podium due to a post-race penalty from Maverick Venares.
