Fabio Quartarraro is seeking changes to tactics by the Monster Yamaha team at Qatar MotoGP this weekend.
The French believes that certain adjustments and data collection have prevented him from becoming the most potential in the opening three rounds.
Quartarraro now aims to simplify Lusail’s weekend by sticking to one bass composition since the first practice.
“We’re trying to find a grip, but we’ve already changed the setup 20 times, so we’re not going to change more and find performance,” Speedweek.com quotes Quartararro.
“I think it’s good to have a base to adapt, and if there’s something important that really helps, you can try it out in a row.
“But I don’t want to try the same thing again on another track.
“Every time we change (something) we can’t find the limits of the bike, so we want to focus on riding.
“That’s why I don’t want to touch a bike at this Grand Prix, I don’t want to have the same bass from FP1 to races.
“Of course, if you need to do the normal adjustments, then you do that. But I don’t want to change too much.”
Cartararo was impressed by the sixth and top non-Ducati in the Kota Sprint before the rain. A sighting lap accident and grid confusion led to the 10th place in the Grand Prix.
“(Sprint) was the first time I really enjoyed it during the race this year,” he said.
“Unfortunately, I made a mistake during the (Grand Prix) sighting lap and there was a lot of confusion in the race, so unfortunately we couldn’t actually play.
“But I felt good on the bike, so like I said, I think it’s very important that I keep the same bike, be 100% of the bike and the restrictions are important this weekend.”
Quartarraro is the winner of Qatar’s latest non-Ducati race during the 2021 title season.
