Transfer News expert Fabrizio Romano gives his view that Liverpool News, including consultations with Florian Wirtz, is not a major moment in this story.
The Reds’ interest in Wirtz has been confirmed by Romano, but he also appears to have lost the importance of their efforts to find out what is happening in German International.
Wirtz appears likely to leave Bayer Leverkusen this summer, and Romano has made it clear that he is his understanding that he is confident in signing him.
Speaking on YouTube, Italian journalists have also revealed that it is normal for top clubs like Liverpool to look into deals like this, but this is not what he considers particularly big news in this story…
What Fabrizio Romano said about Florian Wirtz and Liverpool
“There are a lot of clubs involved, but in this case I can guarantee that nothing will be decided,” Romano said.
“In Bayern, they are sure they are Florian Wurtz’s clear favourites and they are sure Florian Wiltz wants to play for them, but at this point it is not yet complete from a consensus standpoint, absolutely not signed.
“So, that’s why the UK clubs are in contact with people close to Wirtz, but at this moment they know that this deal isn’t quite easy.
“So, I think Liverpool is normal for top clubs, so I wanted to be informed of the situation, so I wanted to let the story status know what kind of projects they had to offer.
“So Liverpool took this kind of step, but it’s not something we’d report as a very big moment for Liverpool, as it depends on evolution on players.”
Is Liverpool aiming to attack Double Leberkusen?
It is still unclear whether the LFC can realistically sign Wirtz, but if they do, it could be part of an exciting double raid against Leverkusen.
Jeremie Frimpong is already very advanced, saying he should complete his transition to Anfield soon.
Wirtz makes another great addition from this Leverkusen side. This looks like it’s broken this summer as manager Xabi Alonso leaves and Jonathan Tah comes at the end of his contract.
