Liverpool reportedly identified Connor Bradley as the next big thing to help Trent Alexander Arnold recover from his departure.
It’s a very strong suggestion that the Reds won’t necessarily move for a new right-back in the market this summer, according to Fabrizio Romano, who goes to his podcast here.
Alexander Arnold is widely expected to join Real Madrid when his contract with Liverpool expires this summer, which is undoubtedly a major blow to the Merseyside giants.
But Bradley has another big prospect who always seemed very reliable when asked to fill out as a backup for Alexander Arnold.
Connor Bradley could be Liverpool’s right back if Trent Alexander Arnold moves
Some Liverpool fans may be concerned that the club doesn’t seem to have more well-known targets in mind now, but sometimes the best players are found inside.
Alexander Arnold himself originally appeared through the LFC Academy. Bradley looks ready for him to become Arne Slot’s first choice now.
“In terms of right-back, what I’m hearing is that I’m very pleased with Connor Bradley. They believe Connor Bradley can be part of this future Liverpool team. They believe he’s a huge talent,” Romano said.
“The responsibility to start a right-back at Liverpool is going to be a completely different matter, but they feel this boy is all in place to become an important player for Arne Slot.
“I was at Anfield in Liverpool Real Madrid in November. November, December, I don’t remember. There was a tackle from Connor Bradley and a response from the crowd. I think the response from Anfield was the perfect beginning of a new story.
“That moment shows that we are ready to trust the boy not only as a club, but also as a fanbase, and we are ready to trust Connor Bradley, and let’s see what they are doing in the market.
