Famous MMA coach Firas Zahabi is confident that Khamzat Chimaev is the biggest middleweight ever.
“Borz” put together one of the most dominant performances in title fight history at UFC 319, recording more than 21 minutes of control time against the former title Dricus du Plessis.
The fight itself irritated many fans with the lack of action, but for Zahabi it was a performance worthy of a goat.
“Khamzat is the best middleweight ever,” Zahabi said on his Tristar Gym YouTube channel. “I could leave him to anyone in the middleweight division, and I always chose Kamsat. Adesanaya, DDP and Anderson Silva have forgotten that. No one can hold a candle for him. He’s Habib in the middleweight division.”
Not everyone appreciates Khamzat Chimaev’s grappling display at UFC 319
Of course, Zahab wasn’t as excited as Zahab had about a attack like Chimaev’s Wrestle in Chicago.
UFC title challenger Paulo Costa, who has been very open about Chimaev’s dislike in recent months, has absolutely crafted Chechnya’s performance.
“This is a show, this is entertainment,” Costa told Ariel Helwani. “This kind of fight and fighter jets has a lot of potential to kill this business.
“This surprised me because at a press conference after the fight, Dana (White) said, “OK, he’s amazing.” No, he’s horrible.
Whether you’re grateful for the dominance on display or genuinely bored, there’s no denying that Chimeh appears to be strangled in the middleweight division.
