From Whittier’s museum-grade collection to deep Texas memorabilia, to Bakersfield Bar’s caves, which combine history, soul and a good vibe, this week’s competition has been one of the toughest things ever.
Let’s break down three outstanding submissions from episode 12.
Augie Menchaca-Whittier, CA
On behalf of Southern California, with more than 60 years of dedication, Augie Menchaca has seriously changed her love for the blue boy Entertainment Centre And secondary Museum – Yes, you read it correctly.
Augie’s collection includes over 250 bobbleheads, signed jerseys, original World Series pennants, and autographed baseball covering every inch of the room. There’s even a canvas signed by Pee Wee Reese, the 2020 World Champion Player Card, and a framed photo of Augie taking Don Drysdale’s signature directly.
From Vin Scully tributes to a blue Christmas tree decorated with ornaments, this set-up is pure passion, wrapped in nostalgia.
Maxwell Mathiason – Austin, Texas
Everything is growing in Texas, including the passion for baseball. Maxwell Mathiason has given his fan cave a refreshing twist, focusing on rare personal items, particularly lineup cards from the coaching staff of Dave Roberts, Travis Barbary and Oklahoma City .
Throwing baseball signed by Walker Buhler, Clayton Kershaw and Justin Turner has a clean, curated space that screams baseball intelligence. Maxwell’s Cave is for fans who not only look at all the pitches, but also study dugout cards like the gospel.
Chris Heathley – Bakersfield, California
And then there is Chris Heasley, the proud founder of the current iconic O’Heasley, the ‘ Barcab Meat Mewsim in Bakersfield. It began in 2020 as distance learning spaces evolved into a Blue glory shrine.
Chris’ set up boasts signed cleats, catcher gear, baseball cards and -colored sneakers next to the TV. American history teacher Chris honors Jackie Robinson throughout the cave with a framework and memorabilia that highlights the impact Jackie has had on and off the field.
He is shown in childhood in Albertson’s Run’s Steve Sax Blue hat, retro baseball video games from Hidonomo to Tommy La Solda, as well as even Bo Jackson, Ken Griffey Jr., MJ, Bob Marley and Carlos Santana. The O’Heasleys are more than a fan cave. It’s a celebration of atmosphere, time machines, sports and soul.
