Episode 13 of Snation’s Fan Cave Battle brought heat like never before, turning the script over into a traditional week, delivering what could potentially go down as the nearest finish in competition history.
Last week’s results were obviously going to have to do something after getting upset on social media, fan forums and even the whole inbox. One name continues to appear: Aussie Menchaka.
In his episode 12 setup, fans cried out for justice. This week we gave them it and brought Aussie back for a red shot.
But Aussie wasn’t alone. Two more returners have re-entered the battle since the early days of the Fan Cave series, starving for another opportunity of the ‘ glory. And to raise interest? The brand new competitor stepped into the ring with championship hardware and his own heartwarming tale.
Let’s break down the candidates for Episode 13:
Augie Menchaca – Whittier, California
The fan favorites that came back were unstoppable. The Aussie home has been transformed into a Full experience with a wall lined with pool stands, themed bars, custom checkers, chess sets and autographed memorabilia dating back to the 1955 Championship team.
From a passionate tribute to Vin Scully to the ultra-rare golden bobblehead of Kirk Gibson and Shoe Hei Ohtani, the Aussie set-up blends undeniable passion with museum-level history. It is the fan cave that leaves the chin on the floor.
Jaime Barajas – Santa Clarita, California
The newcomers in this week’s episode are ready for war. Jaime’s Caves began with one Manny Ramirez Bobblehead gifted by the pastor and blossomed into a Hall of Fame-level collection featuring over 400 Bobbleheads, 200 autographed baseball, the Clayton Car Show, Corey Seager, and the Cordy Bellers.
From the Brooklyn nods to vintage ticket stubs, signed lineup cards, and rare generation memorabilia, Jaime’s Caves are a living tribute to “Blue Heaven on Earth.”
David Morales – California
David connected the mind and history. After undergoing back surgery, his wife surprised him with a custom recliner. And then the fan cave began. Add a sparkling neon sign that points to ” Drive & Vince Curry Avenue,” Halloween themed figurines and custom World Series ring displays, and you’ll find spaces full of love, family and pride.
Oscar Gonzalez – El Paso, Texas
The Oscar Fan Cave, representing from El Paso, is built around a strong collection of baseball, with 32 games used per home game in 2020, the year the finished the 37 World Series drought. Above it is a signed ball All members of that championship roster.
Even with bar stools used in the game, seating at the Chavez Valley stadium, and even work from work from home, Oscar’s space pays homage to the journey of fandom, not just the team.
Final Verdict
This week’s decision was not easy as four incredible submissions are on display.
In fact, it came down to two Titans: Augie Menchaca and Jaime Barajas. One represents redness, while the other explodes into the scene with its legendary debut.
The Aussie set up was Jaw-Dropping, a masterpiece built over decades. But Jaime’s Fan Caves told the story – a journey from a single bobblehead to a personal Museum celebrating the history, heart and hope that defines this fanbase.
In the end, he had to be crowned Jai Mebarahas as this week’s Fan Cave Certified Champion.
