Felipe Drugvich is running to join the Cadillac as a Formula One teammate of the Valtteri Bottas in 2026.
According to Autosport, if Cadillac chooses the second F1 driver with little experience, Dragovich is his first choice.
The Brazilian has been Aston Martin’s Test and Reserve Driver since winning the FIA Formula 2 title in 2022.
However, Dragovich has not been able to land a full-time drive since the F2 victory.
Drugbic has shown a flash of pace during Aston Martin’s various FP1 outings and is highly regarded for his Silverstone-based outfit.
Brazilians don’t have a chance to race for Aston Martin unless Fernando Alonso or Lance’s walk misses the injured race.
The walk withdrew from the Spanish Grand Prix – but as the timing came after qualifying, Drugvich couldn’t replace him.
Drugovich is currently in the frame to join the Cadillac and F1 Grid in 2026.
But that’s not clear.
Cadillac options for 2026
According to the report, Bottas is at the top of his wish list.
Earlier this year, Formula One reporter Lawrence Barrett claimed that Sergio Perez was popular for landing one of the Cadillac seats.
Bottas’ involvement in Formula 1, acting as a Mercedes test and reserve driver, was impressed by senior Cadillac management.
Cadillac hopes to sign one driver in the coming weeks ahead of the F1 summer holidays.
The second driver story can continue until September.
Perez stays in the frame, but could be Bottas’ teammate.
If Cadillac wants an option with little experience, Drugovich is the first to line up.
Mick Schumacher and Zhou Guanyu are also on the market.
Schumacher has not been in Formula 1 since being dropped by Haas at the end of the 2022 season.
Germany is part of Alpine stability and represents the French brand of the World Endurance Championship.
Zhou is a Ferrari Reserve and a test driver.
The Chinese driver was dropped into Sauber at the end of 2024.
